 The latest version of Vimas products is a real step forward, putting their JPG plugin on par with the competition : support for Gif and PNG too, all the usual settings (luminance/chr ominance, compression levels etc) though not the most high-end ones (such as shielding or different compression levels for different parts of the image), all in a redesigned, improved interface, as dull as can be, but very clear and easy to understand, with a nice preview system (the little thumbnail navigator at the bottom for example). They have also put a couple of very original and useful features, such as built-in standard image enhancement filters such as sharpen, and the ability to add a border to your image, picked up from the border library - the ones provided are limited, but they are simple PNG images so you can easily extend the library with your own. The last feature that comes in very handy is that the plugin can generate at the same time the compressed image, the thumbnail and the web page.
One of the best web products in the end ; it only lacks image slicing to be perfect. |
