Sabin Shade has identified a few Easter
Eggs that can be found in the latest release of Photoshop and ImageReady..
Photoshop 7.0
First, hold down the Ctrl key, go to the about screen, it now shows Liquid Sky. Look at the far left of the Liquid Sky about screen,
our good old friend
The Electric Cat is back! |

ImageReady 7.0
Like in Photoshop 7.0, first hold down Ctrl key, and go to the about screen, it now says Adobe Eelpout 7.0
(And the logo has changed, also). Next, go to the about screen (Either with or without holding down control, so
it works in Eelpout or Imageready ;) ) and click anywhere on the picture, a
golden duck stamp appears, hold down alt and control, a crosshair appears, and click on a stamp to make
it disappear. |

Robb Feldhege has found two Eggs in
Photoshop Elements 2.0. Hold the CTRL while selecting "About Photoshop
Elements" to bring up a different "About" box that displays a "Palladium"
screen. After the credits scroll by, some funny credits scroll. The very
last credit is a credit to the user from the company. The other egg is the
little wizard. He pops up when CTRL + ALT Clicking the palette options
Settings in the layers tab. |

In Photoshop 6.... if you ask for the "About Photoshop" screen while
holding down the Alt and Ctrl key, you will find the usual screen replaced
by the one with the Venus In Furs. Makes you want to party with Adobe
software developers. |

Just a few words about the one joke the guys at Adobe left in Photoshop 4: if you ask for the "About Photoshop" screen while holding down the Alt key, you will find the usual screen replaced by the one with the Big Electric Cat. If you press again the Alt key, you will launch the scrolling credits... Still holding the Alt key, click on the Cat's big eye then hold down the Ctrl key. Finally, release the Alt key, then the Ctrl key; secret messages will appear between the image and the credits.... |

By the way, there is something similar in Illustrator 7 and 8 : once again, keep the Alt key pressed, but click on the info bar (bottom left of your canvas), and you will have several options, such as a pair of eyes that will follow your mouse pointer, the US national debt calculated in real-time... |

There is a similar Easter Egg in Photoshop 5 (and 5.02): press Ctrl and Alt when requesting the About... screen. You will see a sea landscape with a "strange cargo". Now type "udo", the crate will open and the cat go meow... More (thanks to "Fonzaloon") : hold down the Alt key, then the Ctrl key, it brings up all sorts of stupid messages (above the credits)...
I have been sent another one by Sean Cotes : when you hold the Alt key, and click on the black arrow on the right of the Layers palette to select "palette options", you get this cute little wizard...
The lates, sent by Fabien Gentit, only seems to work in Illustrator 7 : Ctrl+Alt+left click on the Venus on top of the toolbar brings the scrolling list of the developers, but written as anagrams. |
